Assalaamu alaykum, my name is Mehmet, and together with my wife, we run Halal Jerky Co, a small business born out of necessity, passion, and a whole lot of hard work.

It all started during my days behind the wheel—driving trucks for long hours across Sydney. As anyone who spends their time on the road can tell you, snacking becomes a lifeline to stay sane and calm through the emotional rollercoaster that is Sydney traffic.

Trying my best to avoid becoming the stereotypical "big-bellied truck driver," every stop at a servo was a battle of the nafs (desires), urging me to grab a bag of chips or chocolate. More often than not, I’d lose that battle.

Jerky was my go-to snack, until I realized there were no halal options available. That’s when I decided to take matters into my own hands and start making my own.

What began as a personal stash to get me through long shifts quickly turned into something more—my trucking mates wanted in. Word spread, demand grew, and before I knew it, Halal Jerky Co was born.

Today, we’re proud to offer high-quality, halal-certified beef jerky made with real ingredients, no artificial preservatives, and a whole lot of flavour.
